Psalms 34:1 “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”

This Year was a Lord-led Year. All imperfections were perfected by the Lord; be it Choir Sunday or Carol Service.

Deuteronomy 8:2 “Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness.”

Exodus 13:21 “The Lord was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light.”

With great pleasure we present you the annual report of our Choir for the year 2014-15. It’s only by the grace of our Lord;  the leadership of Mr. Sundar Graham, our Choir Master; the efforts of our Choir Secretary, Mr. Sanish Stephen; the support of the Pastorate Committee  and the dedication of each and every choir member that we could fulfill our responsibilities as a Choir. Our sincere thanks go to all the choir members, organists and office bearers for their wonderful services.

CHOIR SOCIALS

The choir anniversary was held on February 1 and was attended by 23 choir members. The open discussion on how to improve the choir was preceded with singing and prayers. For the first time we had video screening session by which choir heard some quality singing by well known choir of Handel - "Messiah"/ The Choir of King's College, Cambridge Trinity College Chapel Choir. Achen’s views on the ways to improve the choir were well received by all. It was decided that there will be separate attendance for both the worship centers. Efficient mike system for Sunday service was another need. Mr. Tijo K.  John had explained the meaning of cross bearing. The importance of punctuality and the need for dedication was stressed upon. choir retreat

After a break of long 5 years our choir was able to successfully conduct a Choir Retreat this year. It was held on September 6 in the old parsonage and was attended by 24 members. Rev. P. D. .John presided and Mrs. Pristy Sajeev was the guest speaker. She explained Biblical singing, why to sing and a practical goal as Christians throughout OT & NT. Beginning from Moses and his sister sang to celebrate the red sea crossing. Prophets that met King Saul were singing and playing on lyres, tambourines, flutes, harp (1Sam 10:5). David played the harp and sang for Saul and the most important music was that of tabernacle and temple worship, consisting of the Psalms. The tradition of sacred singing continued through the inter-testament period till the NT after the last supper, before Jesus led his disciples to the garden of Gethsemane.
