“Train a  child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not  turn from it.  Prov. 22:6”

With the grace of our Lord Jesus  Christ and the ample guidance of our vicar Rev. Christy David Daniel, the co-operation of Sunday  School  teachers  and the  collective support of committee members and the parish members, it gives me immense pleasure in presenting the Sunday School report for the academic  year 2016.

The teachers meeting held on 6th March, 2016 was presided by our achen, Rev. Christy David Daniel and had taken certain decisions.

  1. The Sunday School academic year should be from January -December.
  2. Sunday School classes for the 10th & 12th standards to be conducted at least once in a month.
  3. All students should attend Sunday School till their 12th std.
  4. The following were the teachers of this academic year- Mrs. Beena Rajiv, Mrs.  Laly Thomas, Mrs. Babykutty Sam, Mrs. Lata Johnson, Mrs. Stephy Mariam Zachariah, Mrs. Reena Aju, Mrs. Jessy Johnson, Mrs. Sheena Mathews, Mrs. Tinny  Sam, Miss. Sophie  Mathews, Miss Michelle Johnson & Miss Sharon Samuel.

Sunday School Teachers Retreat was held on June 4th 2016, and was presided over by our Achen. Our Headmistress & all our teachers attended this session. Our achen highlighted how Sunday School is vital in shaping the character of a child, as it is the only place that teaches a systematic way of God’s word.

The new session of  Sunday  School   for the academic  year 2016  was from  June   – December  &  commenced on  June 19th 2016 at  Khadki &   Pune centres. We had 56 students and 12 teachers from both the centres.

The  Vijaysthothram  took place  on  5th  and 12th June 2016, at  Khadki   &  Pune  respectively, in gratitude  to God  Almighty  for granting each child a successful  academic  year.

By God’s grace we could organize a Teenagers meet on 21st August, 2016 and the theme was “In search of a meaningful life”. For praise & worship we had 2 UBS   2nd year students Mr. John Paul & Mr. Robin Mathew along with our usual UBS team. This was followed by Mrs. Jessy Johnson who discussed about various challenges a teen had to face. This was well received by all those who attended the retreat.

Sunday School Sunday was celebrated in Khadki and Pune on 6th and 27th Nov respectively and the service was led by the students. Sermons were delivered by Mrs. Lata Johnson at Khadki & Mrs. Tinny Sam at Pune. Students also presented skits & songs on the occasion of Sunday School Sunday.

The Orphanage Visit   to the Prerana Home, Wakad was conducted on 19thth November 2016 along with the Women Fellowship members. We sang songs, told stories about God’s love, played games with children and shared lunch with the inmates. The work of sisters & how the children lived happily made us to think a while; to thank God for the blessings we enjoy and pray for all those who are less privileged.

The Annual Competition was held on 4th Dec 2016 for various events relevant to each class group. The aim of the competition was to motivate and develop the talents of our children for the Glory of God. We thank our UBS friends Jess Mathew, Bijo Ninan, Sonu Danny Thomas, Linu George & Sam Mathew Roy who were assigned to judge. The Sunday School examination was held on Dec 11th at both centres.

I am grateful to Rev. Christy David Daniel & Stephy Kochamma for their guidance and immense support extended during the academic year. I thank all the teachers for their dedicated service and contribution. I also express my heartfelt gratitude to the church committee, our Head Mistress, the UBS team, parents and children for their continued support as always.

May the Almighty God bless all of us.
