By the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and under the able guidance of our Achen, Rev Christy David Daniel the youth were able to plan and execute many activities for the year 2016-17. The 28th One Day Youth Conference was held on 15th August 2015. The following office bearers were nominated for the current business year:

Ecological Sunday:

            This year we celebrated the first Ecological Sunday held on 19th June, 2016. This was to make us realize the importance of Green Earth and its importance to conserve Mother Earth by not polluting it and planting more trees and plants to reduce pollution. The youth distributed Saplings and Bookmarks to encourage Home Cultivation of plants to encourage Vegetable Gardening.

Annual Youth Camp:

            The annual youth camp for 2016-17 was held from July 8th-10th on the theme ?Treasures in a Clay Pot?. The theme was delivered to us by Rev. Dr. Jacob Thomas. It was attended by 45 YF members. The journey, the camp site and the fellowship was a memorable experience. The theme was delivered in various interactive sessions divided over the 3 days filled with discussions and group activities which engaged all the youth to unite as one. The camp was led by excellent worship sessions by the UBS students and our very own youth members. We are especially thankful to our Achen and Kochamma for their presence in all our activities, we thank Mr. and Mrs. Sunder Graham to give their time and efforts to be present with us for the camp and we also thank the management committee for helping us in conducting this camp.

One Day Youth Conference:

            The 28th One Day Youth Conference was held on 15th August 2016in the trust office.Webegan with theflag hoisting singing the National Anthem to kindle the spirit of patriotism towards the country and society.Thekeynotespeakerfortheday was Rev. Dr.WilsonPaluri,DeanofStudents&HostelLife&LecturerinReligion,UBS,onthetheme:?Divergent:GoingAgainst the Tide of Contemporary Culture? (Biblical Reference: Ephesians5:15-20,Romans12:1-2).We thank allourYouthMembers who participated in this conferenceand madeitasuccess. The youth committee would like to thank Rev Christy David Daniel, Mr.Benoy Mathews, Mr.SamkuttyJohn and Mrs. Sheena Mathews forgracefully accepting our invitations and offering their support to us with theirpresence.

Youth Sunday:

The youth Sunday was held on 2nd October,2016. The worship was led by the members of the Youth Fellowship and the sermon was delivered by Ms.Salomi Sam on the theme ?Work with Christ?. The Youth fellowship was also involved in conducting the English worship held on every fifth Sunday of the month. The sermon on these occasions weremostly delivered by youth members.

Missionary Sponsorship:

By His grace the Lord Almighty enabled the youth members to sponsor a Missionary for Orissa Mission.The youth members who are willingly contributed are:-

May the Lord bless the Youth immensely to be the channels for the support of Christ?s work and for the extension of His kingdom.

Harvest Festival:

            The Youth Fellowship had participated actively in the cleaning of the old parsonage and its vicinity.The youthparticipated actively in the Harvest Festival by helping in the preparation of the Food and organising various games stalls. With the enthusiasm of the Youth Members in organizing and conducting various activities, the youth was able to raise money for future activities of the church.

Youth Cottage Prayer:

            The youth cottage prayer was held to gather the youth and encourage in praise and worship. We thank Mr.Siby, Ms.Salomi Samand Rev. Christy David Achan to have opened their homes for these meetings.

Kaleidoscope:

            Article contributions from the congregation and youth are printed in the Kaleidoscope section of our trumpet. Contributions to the Kaleidoscope are encouraged by our Achen Rev. Christy David. We would also like to thank Mr P. K. Kurien for all the efforts in compilation for the same.

Future events:

            The upcoming events are crucial for the maximum participation by all willing Youth Members.

i) The Ecological Sunday planned for 1st week of July, 2017, the youth have decided to sell Jute bags to avoid the use of plastic and saving the Mother Earth and raise money for Orissa Mission.

ii) The National Youth Conference will be from Oct. 20th to Oct 22nd, 2017 encompasses youth from various CSI parishes held at Marthoma Retreat Center, Kamshet. This is an event wished by Most Rev. Thomas K. Oommen. The Pune Parish is assigned with the Transportation arrangements and also included in the various committees. The active participation at the event and support by the Youth is expected.

iii) The Orissa Mission visit is planned for Oct. 24th to Oct. 29th, 2017. This visit is an important experience for Youth members to see Christian Mission Work in Rural India.

Conclusion:

            With the Grace of Jesus and the support of Rev. Christy David Achen as our leader and the supporting Committee members we havesuccessfully executed almost all of the planned activities. The number of youth participants for the activities have increased, for which we should praise God. We pray that this continuesin the coming year and see more of our brothers and sisters being a part of this blessed fellowship.

We would also like to thank our Senior Youth leaders and members for their active participation.A big thank you to all our Youth, who make the Youth Fellowship, the fellowship that it is.
