One Day Youth Conference:

The 26th One Day Youth Conference was held on 15th August 2014 and was attended by 33 youth members. The conference began with the hoisting of the national flag by our Youth Adviser, Mr. C. E. Joseph. The theme Purposeful Livingwas explained to us by our guest speaker Rev. Thomas Jacob with examples from the life of King Solomon. The praise and worship sessions were led by Mr Sujith. The new office bearers were nominated in the business session. We are thankful to Rev. Thomas Jacob, our Achen and UBS friends for leading the conference well.

Membership Campaign:

A membership campaign was conducted in the months of June and July with the objective of reaching out to our youth. The membership fee was Rs 200 and Rs 50 for working and non-working youth respectively.

Youth Sunday:

The Youth Sunday was held on 5th October 2014. The worship was led by the members of the Youth Fellowship and the sermon was delivered by Miss Sarah Tharian. We also had a special song by the youth members.

Apart from the Youth Sunday the youth have also led the English services that took place over the past year. The various portions and sermons and even the hymns were rendered in English. Special thanks to Mr Binu Philip, Miss Sharon Alex and Miss Julie Thomas for delivering the sermons on these occasions.

Fun Day:

Following the good response we received last year, a Fun Day was conducted this year also on the 6th of December 2014. It was a great success with participation from young and old alike. The youth were able to cook up some very tasty food under the guidance of our teachers. The youth committee would like to convey its gratitude to our teachers for the day Mrs Babykutty John and Mrs Mariamma Abraham and also to all our sponsors for the event.

Kara Seva:

The Youth Fellowship has participated actively in the cleaning of the old parsonage and its vicinity. We have also participated actively in the Harvest Festival by organising various food, drinks and games stalls. We were thus able to play our part in raising money for our church building fund.

Electronic Media:

The Facebook account of our church is being actively managed by Mr Anil Cherian and Mr Sabin John. Thanks for the efforts of Mr Frank Thottakath, Mr Anil Cherian and Mr.Sabin John for bringing back our church’s website. It is being currently updated by Mr. Sabin John. We also have a “CSI Pune” group on Whatsapp administered by Miss Sabina John.

The librarians for the year are Miss Sophie Mathews and Mr. Aby Johnson Isaac. The Library was organized, the books renumbered and sorted in our new cupboard by our librarians and volunteers. The library is open to members for a registration fee of just Rs 50 a year. We would like to urge all our church members to make use of this facility.

Article contributions from the congregation and youth are printed in the Kaleidoscope section of our trumpet. Contributions to the Kaleidoscope are encouraged. We would especially like to thank Mr P. K. Kurien for all the efforts for the same!

Pending events:

The annual youth camp was postponed for various reasons and is proposed to take place in June this year. We were also unable to fulfil our desire of spending one day of our year with an Orphanage. However we would like to make this happen in the upcoming business year.

We were not able to execute some important activities. One major reason is the lack of willingness on part of the youth members to participate. It seems church related activities hold the least priority in our lives. We definitely appreciate the amount of effort people spend for their career development and work etc but would just like to remind them the case of King Solomon the richest and the wisest man of all times who after acquiring everything one could ,felt that all the things which he had were of no good. Would it really destroy your career if you spend a fraction of your time in a year for church activities? I think it’s high time we start taking this seriously before it’s too late.

We would like to thank our Achen, our Parish Secretary Mr P. K. Kurien, our Youth Adviser Mr C. E. Joseph, our committee members and all our families for the unwavering support over the past year. Special thanks to Mr. Sujith and our brothers from UBS who are always ready to support us in all our activities. We would also like to thank our leaders and members for their active participation. We would like to thank M/s Super Printers for their prompt and reliable efforts for our various printing needs.  Lastly, big thank you to all our Youth, who make the Youth Fellowship.

May the good Lord bless us all.
